Default Microsoft's New Attempt To Dominate Robotics

An anonymous reader writes "IEEE Spectrum reports that Microsoft's Robotics Group is announcing new world domination plans mdash; at least for the robotics world. The company is making its Robotics Developer Studio (RDS), which includes Microsoft's CCR and DSS runtime toolkit, available to anyone for free. Why make it a freebie? Because the company wants to expand its RDS base and get a grip on the robotics development space, hoping big things will come out of it."pa href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fhardware.slashdot.org%2F story%2F10%2F05%2F21%2F0043254%2FMicrosofts-New-Attempt-To-Dominate-Robotics" target="_blank" title="Share on Facebook"img src="http://a.fsdn.com/sd/facebook_icon_large.png"/a a href="http://twitter.com/home?status=Microsoft's+New+Attempt+To+Dominate+Ro botics%3A+http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2FdobxJV" target="_blank" title="Share on Twitter"img src="http://a.fsdn.com/sd/twitter_icon_large.png"/a/ppa href="http://hardware.slashdot.org/story/10/05/21/0043254/Microsofts-New-Attempt-To-Dominate-Robotics?from=rss"Read more of this story/a at Slashdot./p pa href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/XhbgctLXN-r98xyqTIICZWVcO3M/0/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/XhbgctLXN-r98xyqTIICZWVcO3M/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/abr/ a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/XhbgctLXN-r98xyqTIICZWVcO3M/1/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/XhbgctLXN-r98xyqTIICZWVcO3M/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pimg src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Slashdot/slashdotDevelopers/~4/NModaYZHXGQ" height="1" width="1"/
