Default UDM4 vs PHP

What makes UDM4 better to learn than PHP? Does it allow more things, do extra things, or just another version of php type things?

Well, for starters, UDM is not a programming language, more of a "web widget" that you can use with any server side framework.

The real question is what makes UDM4 better than other drop-down menus. The difference is that UDM4 is 100% WAI / 508 compliant, uses Semantic XHTML, and is not dependant on Javascript to provide content.

I'd say both, as both will help you create menus on your site. UDM4 can be extended with PHP to create menus dynamically.

I know that's a cop-out

Haha well yeah I noticed the cop-out. If you had to pick one to do without for a website's launch, which would you do without?

I would definitely use UDM because you don't need to know PHP to use it and installit, just a basic understanding of HTML.

You can always enhance it later on with PHP

There we go the answer to my question. When I get back to designing my layout I'll read more about UDM and then if I need help I'll know where to come. Thanks for the help.

I tend to agree with you but I am not too sure if I understand you clearly
