Default Microsoft's CoApp To Help OSS Development, Deployment

badpazzword writes "Microsoft employee Garrett Serack announces he has received the green light to work full time on CoApp, an .msi-based package management system aiming to bring a wholly native toolchain for OSS development and deployment. This will hopefully bring more open source software on Windows, which will conversely bring OSS more users, testers and developers. Serack is following the comments at Ars Technica, so he might also follow them here. The launchpad project is already up."pa href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fdevelopers.slashdot.org% 2Fstory%2F10%2F04%2F08%2F2343205%2FMicrosofts-CoApp-To-Help-OSS-Development-Deployment" target="_blank" title="Share on Facebook"img src="http://a.fsdn.com/sd/facebook_icon_large.png"/a a href="http://twitter.com/home?status=Microsoft's+CoApp+To+Help+OSS+Developm ent%2C+Deployment%3A+http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2FdmcPMF" target="_blank" title="Share on Twitter"img src="http://a.fsdn.com/sd/twitter_icon_large.png"/a/ppa href="http://developers.slashdot.org/story/10/04/08/2343205/Microsofts-CoApp-To-Help-OSS-Development-Deployment?from=rss"Read more of this story/a at Slashdot./p pa href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/HbPRJZgRotpUrLR-h4lGOJhJNbE/0/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/HbPRJZgRotpUrLR-h4lGOJhJNbE/0/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/abr/ a href="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/HbPRJZgRotpUrLR-h4lGOJhJNbE/1/da"img src="http://feedads.g.doubleclick.net/~at/HbPRJZgRotpUrLR-h4lGOJhJNbE/1/di" border="0" ismap="true"/img/a/pimg src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Slashdot/slashdotDevelopers/~4/m0BYHhii9KQ" height="1" width="1"/
